Second Day in Vienna, Austria

Day (2):

We woke up at 5:30 am because we slept kind of early yesterday. so we stayed at bed until 6:30 am and then got dressed up and went down and ate breakfast it was included with the hotel reservation, breakfast was good I gave it 7/10 and my husband gave it a 8/10 because mostly it contained meat but it got that Roseberry yoghurt which was so delicious.

After breakfast we headed straight to the Schembrunn Palace. Please make sure that you don’t forget anything at the hotel because it is a long way back “ don’t worry this remark is for my husband LOL”.
So I took a lot of pictures for the back of the Palace until my husband came back from the hotel as he forgot his wallet.

Being inside the schembrunn is like entering a whole new world where everything is expensive but money is not an issue anymore, this palace belonged to emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Elizabeth which also called “ sisi” it has 3 floors with one basement and each floor contains an average of 40 rooms as least, after that it was destroyed but it was rebuilt by queen Maria Theresa mother of Maria Antoinette to make it as a winter resort for her vacation, so much of resort!!

We took the classic tour light the price for each person was 14.90 euro it goes with you into four places the grand tour “ visit all 40 rooms of the first floor “ and the privy garden which is the garden located at the side of the palace “ the Glorriete “ which is the building just infront of the Palace which I think it is used as a café for the queen and the maze.

It is really a very good adventure, lucky for us we found out that there was a Mozart concert showing on the very same night so we went to book a ticket, the seller was so friendly he was so welcoming and made us a discount of 12 euro each person and he said he was a Muslim although he is from Austria. So the ticket we bought is 40 euro each person.

All the journey took us nearly 6 hours so you should be well prepared : sport shoes , good breakfast , an 8 hour sleep.

After Finishing with the Palace we went to our hotel to catch our breath and to plan the rest of our day, but we got so hungry so we decided to try japanese. Please please don’t ever think of that.. it’s a bad idea because restourants are so small people are sitting over each other and the menu was in dutch no english!! But we ordered something anyway and it was fairly good but it took 7.50 euro so we stepped outside and looked for a seafood restorant and we found one. Another peace of advice don’t try to include shrimp in your order it will make it much more expensive and it will never satisfy you. We ordered a salamon fillet which was extremly delecious and a 10 pieces of “ jambo” shrimp don’t let that word fool you it is the regular one no diffrence.

After Lunch it was 4:30 PM so we took the train again and went to see the british bookshop It is the biggest english ook store in vienna and it is really big but of course not as big as I thought I found many famous books but they are So expensive so I settled down with a book about queen “ sisi “ for 14.40 euro and went out of the library after that we went to see the hofburg Palace but when we reached there we were surprised that this place is a whole different world by it self, it contains 4 main buildings and some other mesuems. So we decided that we come there tommorow and it was time to get ready for our concert.
We returned home had a cup of coffe “ Very sleepy girl LOL” and got ready for our concert.. again I remind you try not to forget your wallet for the seconed time at the same day, yeah .. we fell for that again LOL.
So we were a little late but we made it on time before it began.. the concert was so casual but fairly good for first timers especially because it is short and simple and you do not have to were and texedo’s . there was a small memorials of mozart like his real clothes and his original masterpieces. There was opera and ballet and they played some of mazart’s classics althought I didn’t recognize any of the pieces I enjoyed it.
The concert finished at 10:15 PM, the city was empty so there was nowhere else to go and we are beat down because we didn’t sleep since we woke up.

My husband got hungry so the magical noodles came to the rescue.. just open the can and pour some hot water.. leave it for 5 minutes and vwala !! you got yourself a nice dinner for free.
Now we are completely and officilly tired and sleepy.. it’s 11:52 PM and we have to wake up at 6:30 AM with the third day and last day of Vienna ..
That’s all for today.. see you
